Meet the Therapist

The main philosophy of Creative Climate Counselling, is to help my clients integrate mind, body, and spirit so they may achieve greater happiness, balance and peace in their lives.

I will not give advice, but rather guide my clients in making their own choices. I fully believe that the individual themself has control over the direction that the counselling takes, with my role being, to work along side, and support along the way.  I also work in Relational Somatic Therapy where together we explore the relationship between mind and body in regard to the psychological past and the release of trauma stored within.

I believe that the principles of warmth, positive regard, genuineness, empathy and concern, are the most effective tools in helping clients to explore their problems and move toward change. I have no doubt that it is the relationship between the client and counsellor that is the most effective factor in facilitating that change.

Sarah Lipsett, MA, Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC), Master Therapeutic Counsellor (MTC), Registered Counselling Supervisor (RCS)

I work in all areas of life, love and loss.  I am encouraged and excited by people's initiative and courage to help themselves. I believe in the innate wisdom of every individual. As a counsellor I strive to create a safe environment to explore important life issues, but also, that each and every person is inherently the expert of their own life.  I believe that a good counsellor will have some techniques that may help open a path to awareness but it is the individual that ultimately will claim their own knowledge and self-empowerment.

I have worked in the areas of intake assessment, individual, family, couple, programming, group counselling and workshops in healthcare focused not-for-profits, and in Respite, Hospice and Palliative Care. In this work I have been blessed to be witness to astounding healing during some of life’s most difficult times.

To the individuals with whom I am honoured to work with, I commit to working with honesty, dedication and integrity in partnership with the client as we walk together in the journey to find that which they seek.

I have a general private practice where I work with individuals and couples.  I am an approved Counsellor for the Crime Victim Assistance Program.  I am a Master Therapeutic Counsellor with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada (ACCT).  I am a public speaker, and I facilitate workshops, in both the corporate and not-for-profit sectors, in the areas of Creating a Healthy Culture in the Workplace, Caregivers and Caregiving, Compassion Fatigue, Grief Management and Death and Dying.

I am also a Registered Counselling Supervisor (ACCT) and I offer a competency-based framework for effective counselling practice through a holistic approach to counselling and counselling business.
